This week’s “Feed Your Health” episode is about how making change takes courage. Too often, we let fear of what other people might do or say affect our momentum when making a change. Family and friends might criticize you when you start making changes, which seems backwards. In this episode, I talk about how society idolizes fit bodies but seems to judge people attempting to make healthier changes. I share some tactical tips on how to handle that.
Where is the support and encouragement? Why do people object to healthy changes SO much? Why do we feel shame for trying to make these changes? Getting family and friends on board can be crucial to your momentum and success. Having support at home will help you feel less alone. If you don’t have that, finding a community of like-minded people who are going after similar goals can be a game changer. I discuss how support and community can help you find more courage and push yourself to new limits. Can you create or find a community? Do you need to invest in one, and what could that look like?
